Dental Implant Treatment
Effective and Effortless Therapy
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is made through a titanium post which is fit into the jawbone. This is positioned beneath the gum line, and your dentist can fix the replacement tooth or bridge over it.
How much dental care are your teeth and gums actually lacking? According to NIDCR, 92% of adults aged from 20 to 64 have had dental caries in their permanent teeth. Delayed checkups or not paying enough attention to your teeth can cause them to decay, or worse fall out. If your teeth do fall out or get broken due to an injury, we will offer our implant therapy services at our dental office in Milton, Ontario and help you regain healthy teeth and a beautiful smile.
When do I need an implant?
- Having a lost or broken tooth can’t always be fixed using restorative dentistry techniques and may require either a dental implant or a dental crown.
- Poor dental care and hygiene may lead to gingivitis which is an infection that develops in the gums causing them to become inflamed and separate from the teeth becoming loose. The most effective way to fix a loose-fitting denture or loose-fitting partials is getting dental implants.
- Infected teeth may sometimes need to be pulled out if your dentist decides it’s the only option left after a detailed examination. We can replace your old tooth with a healthy and natural looking dental implant at our Milton centre to ensure your smile and teeth functions aren’t affected.
Why should I get one?
Replacing your teeth using a dental implant provides a long-lasting and well-functioning relief which will save costs of many dental procedures you may require with a lost or damaged tooth. Dental implants are known to have a success rate of a little above 90% in long-term effectiveness ensuring you don’t need another dentist visit.
Opposite from a loose or broken tooth, the dental implant procedure is painless because we make sure the right aesthetic is used in order to provide you with a pain-free procedure.
Your step by step guide of the procedure
The implant which is inserted in the lower or upper jaw bone according to need is usually made of titanium as allergies to the metal are very rare.
It is a supporting structure used to sustain pressure and can be made of porcelain or titanium. It is attached to the implant with a screw in order to connect the crown to the implant.
It is usually made of PFM which is porcelain fused with a metal alloy but also can be made of pure metal or porcelain. Cement is used to attach the crown to the abutment, or it can be screwed onto it.
There is a very low chance of an infection developing or the implant failing as this procedure is done with great detail and care. Regain your smile, the ability to enjoy food with family and friends, and get rid of all dental pains permanently with the help of our implant therapy service at Milton.
